[That's all Saitou really wants to know, so Kazama won't have to worry much about that. Once he sees that reply he passes his watch off to Souji, to let him see what's happening...and as much as telling anyone what his problem is right now isn't terribly appealing, talking to Souji is infinitely preferable to trying to pry anything else out of Kazama.]
thanks, I don't want Oz to be sad or worry, anymore-- about her, at least. After that place and coming back to this jungle, enough is enough. Anything I can do to make it that much less of a struggle. ]
[ at least sending the image seems to have fixed his formatting issue no thanks to a certain someone with really messed up priorities!!! ]
[ he waited a full fifteen minutes, staring at the watch and daring it to make that awful ringing tone yet again. When it didn't, he slowly shifted to put it away, tucking it into the breast pocket of his jacket. Once out of sight, he breathed a sigh of relief because, in truth, that could have gone much, much worse.
And then he made a vow, to never again use this thrice-blasted thing until Hijikata texts him and then it's on ]
Yeah, you got a point. I'm not that worried. This place is just weird. I can't even say that this stuff even grew here, because the terrain and climate we've had so far up until getting sent to another place this go around wouldn't have overgrown with these kinds of plants even if abandoned.
[ if this was a result of climate change in zelien, then worrying about months or years wasn't even something to really consider in their timeline, it would have been much longer than that.
but, of course, they're all starting to get used to the absolute randomness and nonsense that is COMPASS, even if they don't like it. ]
[He didn't sound great, but even when they're both pissed off, Saitou recognizes boundaries, and telling other people that Hijikata sounded like shit is definitely crossing one.]
[ well, that's honest. it's not that he really cares himself ( it's not that he completely doesn't care, either, just not enough to push anything ), but he got wind from break about something going on and he'd stumbled across saitou one time during the previous week without bothering to even poke his head in. considering all things, even in his less-than-right mind and raven having an incredible advantage, gilbert noticed very easily that saitou had been very very fast.
and not one-handed.
the last he really wants to do is ask the guy to go look for dinah if he's still suffering (he heard you guys like your cats), but he's not going to point anything like that out. it's not his place. ]
I see. Oz is friends with one or two of your group, and knows your superior, as well. So I just thought I'd ask while already bothering you. Be careful, then.
souji doesn't need to know the details, nor does he even feel like asking, to know that this is as much as a sore spot to saitou as the whole tuberculosis thing is to him. it's a matter of wounded prides, and he knows how to dance his way around that.
but it's funny how familiar that sounds, to have a demon be the cause of losing your own humanity. he knows that all too well. ]
So what are you going to do?
[ it's bad enough neither of them knew kazama was here, but with that little tidbit on top of it? if it were souji, he would have been furious, and he imagines saitou feels the equivalent of that. ]
[His gaze drops to the floor, and his good hand moves to clutch at his bad arm. What are you going to do would be such an easier question to answer, if not for that. But in this state...
...in this state, he'd just be asking for another death.]
[ his eyes flicker over to where saitou's good hand holds the bad one, and he sighs right after. that was the wrong question to ask, obviously. he isn't going to press it. ]
... [ he's no good at finding the right words to comfort someone, even though saitou would always know what he's trying to say. ] What a bad thing to wake up to.
